Description: Friend catchers (known as coja novia or love catchers in Mexico) are an ingenious invention. They are made out of natural fibres in the state of Guerrero, Mexico. Young people often carry them around and ask friends to insert a finger. When they try and pull their finger out they actually tighten the finger pull and so trap their finger. They must push gently rather than pull and this will loosen the weave and release the finger! Lots of fun!
